Aviagen Continues Seminars “Knowledge without Borders” Series – Demonstrates Commitment to Colombian Poultry

CAMPINAS, Brazil. — The Aviagen® Latin America team recently journeyed to Colombia with a mission to bring the latest trends and developments to local poultry producers. As part of the ongoing seminars “Knowledge without Borders” series, the sessions were led by key Aviagen experts and focused on addressing specific challenges and needs while enhancing the management skills of participants.

Knowledge without Borders: Cargill

From July 29 to 31, the team hosted a seminar dedicated for Cargill poultry company in Cali, Colombia. Together with the 80 participants from countries across Central America and from Cargill’s Colombian facilities, they explored critical Ross® 308 AP management topics, including chick quality in hatching, early chick care, ventilation and lighting for rearing, quality and performance in feed production, field diagnostics, disease control and prevention, and the importance of water as an often-overlooked nutrient.

Knowledge without borders at AvidesaBreeding success together with Avidesa

On Aug. 1 also in Cali, the team met with 20 employees of poultry farming company Avidesa Macpollo. The group delved into important areas such as breeder management, broiler and breeder nutrition, optimal management from housing to 14 days of age, intestinal integrity, and optimal pelleted feed control and preparation.

Knowledge without borders at AcondesaEngaging with Acondesa

Also on Aug. 1, the team engaged with 30 attendees from the chicken meat producer Acondesa, this time in Barranquilla. The focus was on the management of male and female flocks, strategies to improve egg and hatching chick quality, critical early management practices, and enhanced biosecurity measures, including mycotoxin prevention.

Aviagen Colombia’s Sales and Technical Services Manager, Andrés Parra Díaz, emphasized the company's dedication to supporting local producers. “We were delighted to host dedicated seminars for our valuable customers. The Colombian poultry industry is expanding rapidly, and our customers are at the forefront of this growth.”

Aviagen Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean Technical Services Manager, Rodrigo Cisoto, added: “Our Knowledge without Borders series, organized jointly with PIS, Phibro and Interagro, aims to empower our valued customers by equipping them with advanced management knowledge. By breeding success together, we help them provide nutritious, sustainable, and affordable poultry meat to their communities.” Aviagen’s upcoming 2024 Knowledge without Borders events will be held in Nicaragua and Uruguay.
