Aviagen Spotlights Broiler Management – Key to Food Security and Animal Welfare – at FACTA Brazil

Antonio Amancio, Regional Technical Services Supervisor CAMPINAS, Brazil – With the world relying on poultry as a vital source of protein, getting broiler management right has never been more important. That was the key takeaway from Aviagen®’s participation at the recent Symposium on Innovation in Poultry, Fish and Swine Production.

Hosted by the Foundation for Supporting Animal Science and Technology (FACTA) on May 21–22 in Recife, Pernambuco, PE, Brazil, the event brought together professionals from various animal protein sectors in northeastern Brazil.

On-farm practices that lead to success

Antonio Amancio, Regional Technical Services Supervisor for Aviagen in Brazil, took part in a panel discussion alongside experts from across the animal protein industry. His message was clear: strong management on the farm is key to healthier birds, better performance and long-term food security.

Amancio shared practical ways to improve daily care—from managing temperature and ventilation to ensuring proper nutrition, hygiene, and biosecurity. “Healthy chickens are at the heart of secure and efficient food production,” he said. “When we focus on welfare and apply the right know-how, we help chickens thrive—and that benefits producers, communities, and the planet.”

He also highlighted the importance of building knowledge on the ground. “It’s not just about tools or technology. It’s about people. With the right training and systems in place, farm teams can make decisions that truly make a difference.”
